Blog 9, Street Art: CHILEAN STREET ART AROUND THE WORLD: COLOSSAL MURALS BY INTI
Inti was born in Valparaiso, Chile in 1982. He is a muralist who studied at Fine Arts School of Viña del Mar. Since age 15, Inti has been interested with street art, especially graffiti. At first, his art won a space on the streets and buildings of Valparaiso. Now you can find his work all over the world. Even in the most unique places such as Lebanon, Norway, Bolivia, Poland, Puerto Rico, France, Canada, and so many more. The list continues to grow as he constantly travels.
I chose this artist because ever since meeting of of my greatest friends, I have developed an interest in street art. I have also always been very interested in massive art pieces. The sheer size of Inti's artwork intrigued me. The only real thing that I was thinking when I saw the images of his work was, "How the heck?! That must have taken so much spray paint!"
It's cool that this artist has a distinct character style and uses it repeatedly. These paintings are very visually stimulating and remind me of mid 2000s CGI cartoons.
ReplyDeleteI love the scale of his work! I also like how you added kind of a personal touch to this blog. My fave piece is the last one!
ReplyDeleteI like how these artworks feel like they are jumping out at you. I love how the artist can get such detail in such a large scale, and overall just really like the composition of the works. I also really love street art and I think these are a really cool and unique style.
ReplyDeleteI like the use of contrasting/complementary colors, like the purple and the bright yellow and orange! The 5th piece is my favorite piece! The contrast really made the work pop and come to life.
ReplyDeleteI kind of like the work pieces you have shared. I think there will be a lot of political message behind his work, and I would love to find them out. Anyway, thanks for sharing those great idea and information. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteThese are so cool! These works are larger than life and full of detail, giving the viewer a lot to take in. The first and last ones are some of my favorites because of the use of skulls as the subject matter as well as the color schemes.
ReplyDeleteThe street art is pretty cool, and his work is very personal style. I like this spooky and pop feel, and oversize work also is pretty cool for me
