Meet Me
What inspires me?
There are many things that inspire me. For example: Nature/the outdoors, music, designs made of scribbles, colors, and most importantly, other people. I find nature and the outdoors inspiring because there is so much of it. You take in so much information when you're just sitting outside in the grass, on the pavement (sidewalk), on the beach, in the woods, anywhere really. If I really wanted to I could do an entire drawing project focusing on only trees. I would get busy with trying to focus on the details of the leaves, the bark, the trunk, the colors. Music also inspires me. I love singing, and I find it very easy to create visual art from just the meaning of the lyrics in a song. For instance if a song is talking about the struggles of the artist, I would try to simulate one of the topics and draw it out. The best way to show you this is with the song "Therapy Session" by NF because he is talking about him being depressed. Then I would draw a person who is going through that struggle. Designs made out of scribbles inspire me because it is a type of art I think I could emulate. Different lines, scribbles, and shapes make me think of what kind of shapes and marks that I would make if I did an art piece similar to it. Different colors inspire me because they give me an idea of what the mood of the art piece is going to be. For example: if I get an idea of something I want to make based on the color black, I will most likely make something more dark. I think the most important place I get inspiration from other people. I like learning about their personalities, and then I like imagining different characters I could create out of it.
Experiences
I have had a lot happen in my life so far. It's not all rainbows and sunshine, there is a lot of dark and messed up occurrences that I have gone through. One of the most inspiring that I have is probably when I was last hospitalized. I learned a lot while I was there. All I could really think about is how would I be able to express how I was feeling? I have almost always used writing as an outlet. Then I thought about trying to express myself through art. The more I think about it now, the more guilty I feel about not creating art in my room. I had a notebook, and I wish I used it more for drawing random pictures made up out of random marks. I wish I incorporated art into my life when I was in that dark place.
What Keeps Me Motivated
The feeling to want to help people who are going through similar things that I have gone through before keeps me motivated to want to keep expressing myself. Whether that be expressing myself through speech, writing, or any other way for that mater. I am motivated by other people to want to keep expressing myself when I get complimented on my singing, writing, or photography. Those little things are really where my true motivation comes from.
Ideas I Want The World To Hear
I want the idea of social equality for all to be expressed. I believe that all people are equal, and I want the world to start embracing that idea more and more. I have been bullied and harassed for being the way I am. Just because I look like a female, doesn't mean that that is who I am. I want people to start embracing that just because someone is transgender, gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, skoliosexual, or whatever they may be, is still a human being! People deserve to be treated just like another person no matter who they are!
